Michael Bay: Shell Power Suits

“We’re taking the best of the property, and trimming off all of the fat. The movie is really sharply written. I know the fans are clamoring against us, but they don’t know all the details. The flick will be equal parts Sin City and Avatar. We have a large part of it ready for pre-production. We’re bringing in [Robert] Rodriguez in to help run the set-shots for the black and white stuff. I’ll be assisting on the 3-D effects. Trust me, seriously, once you see Leonardo, Raphael, and Michelangelo in their Shell Power Suits… you know it’ll be worth all this hype.”

…oh boy, here we go back to the 80’s TMNT Anime style. Next flying dragons and top heavy anime girls.

Michael Bay: Ninja Turtles

No longer will the iconic series, at least for the upcoming movies, be entitled “TMNT” but simply Ninja Turtles.

Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie. This script is being developed by two very smart writers, with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles. They care VERY MUCH about making this film for the fans. Everyone on this team cares about the fans. Just give them a chance. Jonathan the director, is a major fan of the whole franchise. HE’S NOT GOING TO LET YOU DOWN.

I’m completely impressed, no really.

Michael Bay: Fans need to take a breath, and chill.

Michael Bay has responded to the TMNT fandom with this message in regards to the uproar the fans (including me) have been setting against Michael Bay.

His statement is as follows:

“Fans need to take a breath, and chill. They have not read the script. Our team is working closely with one of the original creators of Ninja Turtles to help expand and give a more complex back story.”

He continues, “Relax, we are including everything that made you become fans in the first place. We are just building a richer world.”

Personally, I feel this translates to “We don’t care, we’re doing it my way, and you guys will just have to deal with it.”. The fans don’t want Aliens, Michael, listen to your possible future Theater audience.

TMNT’s Robbie Rist: “seriously, Teenage ALIEN Ninja Turtles?”

Posted in News, TMNT with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 20, 2012 by SaitoNetwork

Former voice actor for the original 1990’s TMNT film Robbie Rist had this to say for Michael Bay, “You probably don’t know me but I did some voice work on the first set of movies that you are starting to talk about sodomizing. Look man, I think you have some pretty nifty action ideas… but seriously, Teenage ALIEN Ninja Turtles?

“I know believing in mutated talking turtles is kinda silly to begin with but am I supposed to be led to believe there are ninjas from another planet?… Oh what the hell am I talking to you for? The rape of our childhood memories continues…”

Honestly, I can follow what this guy is saying, and I totally agree. People can just say “Michael Bay” and suddenly there are hordes of face palms, this is a sad moment for us fans… even Michelangelo thinks this sucks, so what are we going to do about it?

TMNT 2013 Movie: Michael Bay, What the Shell?

Posted in News, TMNT with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 19, 2012 by SaitoNetwork

Michael Bay has decided to uproot some TMNT origins by tweaking a certain Turtle-based topic, from Mutant Ninja Turtles, to Alien Ninja Turtles.

“When you see this movie, kids are going to believe, one day, that these turtles actually do exist when we are done with this movie. These turtles are from an alien race and they are going to be tough, edgy, funny and completely lovable.”

The video of said quote is below:

Michael Bay Talks Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

I thought this was Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles? The one thing that made the series even plausible for walking talking turtles? Now they’re going to be some kind of alien race from another planet? Oh I can hear the jokes now, little green men, Michael Bay what the Shell are you doing??

The idiocy is just vibrant in the statements he presented, TANT?? Tant?? Teenage Alien Ninja Turtles?? Ladies and Gentlemen, fellow Mutant Ninja Turtles fans, we have a serious problem that needs to be corrected and I for one am completely disgusted as to how the owners of the TMNT franchise are working the series. This needs to stop, the fans of TMNT could do a far better job than the actual owners-what does this tell you fans? We need to get this error corrected, it’s unbelievable how badly they’re messing this up. So long TMNT, here comes the new Alien schtick! So there’s an Alien race of turtle people? Turtles that originate from our planet? Oh geez, and now they’ll have mum’s and dad’s flocking about on that planet? It’s no longer a special thing for them to be mutant, now they are an entirely different race from the humans? The stupidity is turning the TMNT world upside down, we need to stop this! What happens to Master Splinter then? Will HE be a mutant? How did they crash land on Earth? Or did they? Master Splinter appeared when? Does he have his own race? Is the Turtles Alien race decimated? This is a cruel blow, fans get up off your haunches and stop the stupidity!

TMNT TV 2012: Plot Description

Posted in News, TMNT with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 16, 2012 by SaitoNetwork

Quote from here’s a release on the upcoming 2012 Nickelodeon animation show descriptions, featuring TMNT as one of the header-ups:

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Based on the iconic hit franchise, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has been greenlit for twenty-six episodes and will be executive produced by Ciro Nieli, Joshua Sternin, and Jeffrey Ventimilia. This half-hour CG action-comedy series breathes new life into the popular band of reptile brothers. The new series begins as the turtles emerge from their hidden lair in the sewers for the very first time, ready to confront the wondrous and hostile world of New York City and face enemies more dangerous and pizza more delicious than anything they could have imagined.

Well, whatever happens, we’re getting a new TV show and I’m feelin’ it will only last for so long before it falls back down again. To get a strong grip on the fans, you need to have enticing material, this isn’t anything but shortcoming for the series.

We’ll see what happens in the upcoming months.

TMNT 2012 TV Series: Leaked Character Bios/Kevin Eastmen Interview

Posted in News, TMNT with tags , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , on March 9, 2012 by SaitoNetwork

How unfortunate, it’s like we’ve restarted and come back to square one. Notice the trend of “repeating till we drop”? It’s like nothing original is in the bones of the TMNT franchise anymore, save the fandom’s occasional burst of inspiration. Do we really need another round with Shredder? Let alone the Kraang?

I am deeply disappointed with the overall schematics the Turtles have been brought up to face here, looking at their bodily makeup I can tell not much effort was put into it. Splinter is a mess, I haven’t much good to say about his new look at all. April is sixteen? This doesn’t make sense, the turtles ages are so diminished, what happened here?

This is a mistake, this will only bring the series down in the end if nothing is set to rebuild this from the ground up once again. 2k3, I miss you.

Now for a more random interview from Kevin Eastmen, who explains his more drastic departure from the TMNT franchise:
